EMPOWERING THROUGH EDUCATION
An Orbital Project
Feet on the ground, eyes on the stars.
Phoenix Space is a ground-breaking educational project for teenage Syrian refugees in Turkey and Jordan who will build, program and help launch a satellite into low-earth orbit.
Teenage refugees and local secondary school students will work together in this cutting-edge space science educational program combining mathematics, electronics, physics and project management.
In a first of its kind, the year long education programme will culminate with an in-orbit experiment aboard a satellite in collaboration with the European Space Agency and Open Cosmos as part of the “Call to Orbit” readiness program. The students will build, test and use the apparatus to take useful data from low-earth orbit, inspiring them in a unique opportunity to learn and collaborate in truly global science.
Phoenix Space’s mission is to provide collaborative educational projects to young refugees and hosting communities, to educate, empower and inspire through space science and an orbital experience.
Join us to help to change perceptions of refugees by providing valuable skills that will open the doors to extraordinary opportunities in further education and employment, while acting as a catalyst to bring about collaborative efforts tackling the consequences of the Humanitarian Crisis.
Registered UK charity Prospero World is delighted to support Phoenix Space Education’s work to provide exceptional opportunities for young refugees and will receive tax efficient donations on behalf of the programme.
